3 Step Full Foil Sectioning
Step 1: Section the Diamond (Top Section)
Start by following the natural hairline angle, offsetting about 1 inch back from the front hairline. Maintain that angle as you section toward the top of the ear. From there, angle your line upward toward the top of the crown. Repeat the same on the opposite side to create a diamond-shaped section on the top of the head.
Step 2: Section the Front Hairline
From the front point of the diamond on each side, follow a diagonal line down toward the area just above each ear. This creates two front sections along the hairline, leaving you with a clean outline for the face-framing highlight work.
Step 3: Section the Back
From the back point of the diamond at the crown, follow a straight line down the center back of the head to the nape. This divides the remaining hair into two even back sections, completing your 5-section highlight setup.
